Durham students are served by Regional School District 13, which also serves students in next door Middlefield. Four of the district’s schools reside in Durham, and two are in Middlefield. Coginchaug Regional High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and offers Advanced Placement (AP), UConn Early College Experience, and Honors level classes.

Durham’s biggest claim to fame is its annual Durham Agricultural Fair, which draws more than 200,000 visitors annually.
